GENERAL INFORMATION for Competing Teams: The following general information is provided for competing teams. This page will be routinely updated as contest plans mature.
THE GREAT CATSKILL MOUNTAIN BBQ FEST (2nd Annual) will be held at Fleischmanns Park, Wagner Avenue, Fleischmanns, New York 12430.
WATER & ELECTRICITY - Water and electric are still in the process of being restored at our park; we currently have the same availability as last year (subject to change... we will update this page as progress is made):
Limited electric available at this time. If possible, please bring generators (Honda Quiet or comparably silent). We will keep this page updated regarding any changes to the availability of electric.
Water is shared and will be available at a central location. Please bring your own approved containers to transport water.
ICE: Ice will be available for purchase at a nominal fee (just enough to cover our cost).
TENTS: Local fire codes require that any tent 12’ x 12’ or larger must be fire rated. Cooking may take part at the edge of, but not under, tents. All teams should have at least one current fire extinguisher rated at least 2A 10BC.

Since Sam's Club has a regional competition the same day as ours, please note on the application we are accepting a $25 "hold your spot" deposit (balance due 2 weeks before the contest/forfeit if you cancel).

NEW THIS YEAR! "YOU BE THE JUDGE" - People's Choice Charity Rib-Off
This summer prepare to have your world and taste buds rocked at “The Catskill Mountain BBQ Fest 2017" a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned Barbeque Competition - a day filled with great eats, fantastic music, vendors, lots of prize money and of course…bragging rights!
There will be 3 separate competitions for everyone to enjoy…
1) The Professional Competition: Professional cook teams from all over the country will come to compete against each other for prize money and trophies. The Professional contest will be the standard four KCBS meats: Chicken, Ribs, Pork, Brisket at the standard turn-in times, starting at 12 Noon on Saturday, August 26th.
2) Fire Company Throwdown: where our local fire companies (and maybe not so local) go head on head & hose to hose! The Fire Company teams will compete for prize money and a trophy with one meat category, Chicken.
Turn-in for the Fire company teams is currently scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2017.
3) New this Year! "YOU BE THE JUDGE" - People's Choice Charity RIB-OFF: CONTEST IS OPEN TO ALL
PARTICIPATING TEAMS (PRO and Fire Company) and ALL FOOD CONCESSION VENDORS. This is a DOUBLE BLIND Contest.
KCBS Judging Procedures will apply (based on appearance, taste and tenderness)
Judges are donating $20 to judge your entry; the monies will be donated to the Fleischmanns "Light the Park" project.

Professional and Fire Company contests will be run under the Kansas City Barbeque Society contest rules for 2017:
